‘LET’S TALK CATHOLIC’ CLASS

Have you ever wondered why we, as Catholics, do things that we really don’t understand but do out of habit? Do your kids come out of their Religious Education class and ask you a question about something they learned and you don’t know how to answer them? Have you ever been put on the spot by someone who is not a Catholic with questions about your beliefs? Do you sit in the parking lot or go to Wal-Mart or Dunkin’ Donuts while your kids are in Religious Education class to kill time until they have to be picked up?

Then why not join us for a friendly discussion group? Our group will meet every Sunday between the 8 AM and 10:30 AM Masses beginning August 22nd. Check the bulletin for dates and location.

You are under no obligation to come every session. Your questions and input will be encouraged and very welcome.

Book Store ~ Gift Shop

Remember, the book store/gift shop (room #202) is open for your browsing before and after weekend Masses. Come in for a cup of coffee and check out our new items. Any Catholic book you may want can be ordered. Gifts available for all occasions. All proceeds go back to St. Catherine Church.

Grocery store gift cards are always available for your use through the Knights of Columbus at St. Catherine. Need a $25 or $100 Kroger gift card? You pay $25/$100 and buy that amount of merchandise or gas from them. Kroger cards are ‘re-loadable’ meaning that once you buy the card from the Knights, each time you re-load, they get the credit. Gift cards are also available for Food Lion. (The Knights buy ‘in bulk’ and get a discounted rate thereby benefiting our church.) Monies raised go back to the church. For example: bingo & door prizes for the Senior Citizen monthly luncheons, the T-shirts worn during VBS are provided from this fundraiser. The kitchen was furnished by them as was the courtyard, etc. Stop by the table in the Narthex; cards are available in the office; or call Steve Konz (381-3637).

LADIES’ CLUB BREAKFAST/MEETING:
Sunday, Sept. 19 after the 8:00 AM Mass and ending before the 10:30 AM Mass in the social hall. Hear about our schedule for the remainder of the year, help elect officers for 2011, and give input as to what you would like the Club to do to enhance the “faith, fellowship and fun” for all ladies of the parish. Please sign up in the narthex so we can have a count of all who will attend.

Recently family photographs were taken for our new pictorial directory. Some of you chose to have your complimentary 8 x 10 portrait sent to the church. A box of portraits has arrived and is in the narthex. Please stop by today and pick up your portrait. If your portrait is not in this box, it will arrive shortly. Please check again next weekend.

Envelopes for the Computer Fund are available on a table in the Narthex. You may mail, bring in, or put your contribution toward it in the offering basket. However, please specifically mark it.
